July 17, 1991 - On this date, the most prestigious real estate firm in the Santa Clarita Valley, Valencia Realty, changed ownership and officially became VISTA REALTY of Valencia.

The Newhall Land and Farming Company had made the decision to no longer hold direct ownership in a re-sale Real Estate company. Upon making this decision, Newhall Land alerted the brokers and associate Realtors that they would be either: a.) selling Valencia Realty as a real estate company, or b.) closing its doors for good.

In spite of keen interest by other suitors wishing to acquire Valencia Realty, Newhall Land gave the Realtor Associates first right of refusal to purchase the company. This unique opportunity was seized by 17 of the 29 Realtors then currently working at Valencia Realty. In spite of being forced to relinquish the Valencia Realty name, our motto was an easy one to decide upon... "The Tradition Continues"!

Little did we know, at the time, that there laid ahead another six years of one of the worst real estate recessions in California Real Estate history. Neither could we have guessed that there would be the Northridge Earthquake of 1994. In the face of these events, many of the real estate offices in the Santa Clarita Valley closed their doors forever, several of these were the biggest and best known. During this time, VISTA REALTY of Valencia not only survived, but also grew and prospered, growing from 29 sales associates to over 60.

In December of 1996, VISTA REALTY of Valencia looked to the future and made the decision to go from a well known hometown name to Coldwell Banker Vista Realty purchasing a franchise and giving the company nationwide exposure.

In May of 1998, another move forward. The agent/owners will open a second office in Canyon Country. It, too, will be responsible for "continuing the tradition" of professionalism, the highest standards of ethics and excellence that has endure for over 25 years, no matter what the name!

In August of 1999, Coldwell Banker Vista Realty opened a third location... in Castaic.

In July of 2005, Coldwell Banker Vista Realty opened a fourth location in North Valencia.

To date, Coldwell Banker Vista Realty has grown to over one hundred full-time, committed real estate agents.
